Jan. 20, 2011 Welcome to the new year

Hi folks. I haven't done much with this and I really would like it to be a place we can all meet. I sent a link to Facebook, but this is just for us. I hope we can all participate.

My news:
I am no longer employed. I found the situation at my workplace to be completely unsatisfactory. I didn't agree with the way I had to run the library program. Also, I needed to take some time to focus on family. I have been having a flareup of my RA. Not nice. I am trying to get through it by keeping moving. I still go to workout twice a week with Fiona with a personal trainer. I have also started to spend more time in the warm pool at the gym to work through the flare up. It seems to be helping immensely. I am also having eye surgery on Feb. 4 to remove a huge floater from my right eye. After it is removed I will no longer have mono-vision! YEAH!

Gordon and I purchased a condominium on the Northeast Gulf Coast of Florida. I will post some photos. It has two bedrooms, a bunk in an alcove, and a queen sleeper sofa. There is an amazing view of the beach from both bedrooms and the balcony. Let us know if you are interested in visiting.

Fiona has moved home after graduating from Valdosta State University in May. She is searching for employment in her field, an endeavor which she is finding frustrating. To bring in some income, she is waiting tables at Canvas Creek Grill in Johns Creek, Ga. A few miles from our home. She is doing occasional jobs in her field but nothing that has really paid. She continues to make contacts. She is hoping to visit Los Angeles sometime in the near future to see if she can find something there. In the meantime, Mum, Dad, and daughter get some great family time.

Cameron is back in Statesboro at Georgia Southern University studying for a degree in Geology. This semester he is taking several upperclass Geology classes, and Health. He has his work cut out for him with the Geology classes. He is sharing a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, student apartment with 3 friends. He seems to keep himself busy with studying and playing on his game machine (can't remember the name). He and Gordon often play one another! I talk to him at least once a week, but miss his presence here terribly.

Mum and Dad keep busy, mainly with activities linked to their church. They have a wonderful group of friends. Dad gets lots of time for his bellringing. Mum is having knee surgery Saturday. I'll post how well it goes afterwards.

I hope to see some posts from you lot soon.
